Beat Saber breaks into the zeitgeist, YouTube troubles follow

Jimmy Fallon and Brie Larsen took to an HTC Vive headset for a sweet Beat Saber battle in Mixed Reality. Looks like Brie has been practicing!

Beat Saber has has a meteoric rise since the early access version hit the market last year. It’s really satisfying and fun to play, and we’re glad to provide it on our Sektor platform. This Fallon video isn’t without controversy though (Brie’s bummer of negative press aside) as this very YouTube video is impacting the thriving Beat Saber online players by increasing copyright strikes against content creators. The creators of Beat Saber have tweeted about this problem but can’t do much to combat it since all content creators are beholden to YouTube’s algorithms. So the YT problems continue to stack up. Those issues aside we’re glad to see VR getting broad attention. Beat Saber is, as of this writing, probably the “killer app” on VR right now and it’s great to finally have a game worthy of that designation.
